This week, actor Daniel Arias<\/a> made his debut as a director with 'The Booth', a short fiction film shot over three consecutive nights in Madrid (June 23, 24 and 25). Co-written by Arias and V\u00edctor Castilla<\/a>, the script follows two security guards who, during what seems like just another routine night at the parking lot where they work, find themselves caught up in an unexpected turn of events\u2014one that could change the course of their lives forever.<\/p>

'THE BOOTH', with an expected runtime of 15 minutes, uses comedy as a tool to address social issues such as job insecurity, inequality and the housing crisis, shifting between absurd humor and sharp social critique. For this project, Daniel Arias<\/a> has teamed up with V\u00edctor Castilla<\/a>, Jon Arias<\/a> and Manolo Cal<\/a> to connect with audiences through truth and humor: \"They are incredible actors, and having Eric Masip<\/a> as a special collaboration is a privilege. They\u2019re friends, family, and outstanding performers. I\u2019m surrounded by talent and affection. I feel truly fortunate.\"<\/p>

The production is led by Jarana Films<\/a>, with Javier Pe\u00f1a<\/a> heading production, actress Sara Jim\u00e9nez<\/a> as executive producer, and Sergio Benito<\/a> as line producer.<\/p>

The cast is led by Jon Arias<\/a>, who has just wrapped filming on M\u00e4go de Oz. The movie, directed by \u00c1lvaro Brechner. He previously appeared in Siempre es invierno by David Trueba, and has also been seen in series such as Instinto (Movistar+), Perdida (Antena 3) and Todo lo otro (HBO).<\/p>

V\u00edctor Castilla<\/a>, known for his role as \u2018El Suizo\u2019 in the TVE series Malaka, has also appeared in feature films including El universo de \u00d3liver, Modelo77 and, most recently, Marbella (Movistar+).<\/p>

Manolo Cal <\/a>brings an extensive career in film, theatre and television, having been part of iconic series such as Los ladrones van a la oficina, Cu\u00e9ntame c\u00f3mo pas\u00f3, Curro and Yo la vi primero.<\/p>

Trained at Estudio Corazza, Mesina Troupe and L\u00f3gica Esc\u00e9nica, Daniel Arias built a solid acting career in film, television, theatre and audio fiction before making the leap to directing.<\/p>

On television, he has appeared in series such as El clan Olimpia (Disney+), Cu\u00e9ntame c\u00f3mo pas\u00f3 (TVE), El internado: Las Cumbres (Prime Video) and Amor superdotado (Facebook Watch). He has worked in films under directors such as Javier Ruiz Caldera (Anacleto, agente secreto), Jacobo Mart\u00ednez (13 exorcismos), Fer Garc\u00eda Ruiz (Mala persona), Mart\u00edn Cuervo (\u00bfQui\u00e9n es qui\u00e9n?) and \u00c1lvaro de Armi\u00f1\u00e1n (Segunda oportunidad), as well as starring in several short films. On stage, he stood out in the play Donde mueren las palabras, directed by \u00c1ngel Caballero, and participated in the fiction podcast Malas decisiones, produced by Onda Cero and available on Spotify.<\/p>

His training includes work with masters such as Juan L\u00f3pez-Tagle, Cristina Alc\u00e1zar, Eduard Fern\u00e1ndez, Javier Daulte, M\u00f3nica Vic, Lautaro Perotti, Imanol Arias and Yolanda Vega, combining acting techniques, performance coaching and physical and body training<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\"It was born from an everyday situation: every time I went to my girlfriend\u2019s house, I greeted the parking lot security guards. One day I thought: \u2018there\u2019s a story here.\u2019 The simplest situations can hide powerful human stories. I shared the idea with V\u00edctor Castilla, and together we started writing.
